20th Reunion was Awesome!

I spent the weekend with classmates and we had a blast! The Saturday night gathering was Awesome and I'm so glad I could part of the reunion committee. I did all the memory boards and they turned out fantastic and everyone loved looking at all the pics! It was alot of work, but everyone said what a wonderful job we did, which was great! I can't wait to see all the pics everyone took. I didn't take many because we're having everyone send their pics to me so I can create a picture CD to send to everyone :-) There were about 80 classmates that showed up (at least!). Very awesome!!!

High School Reunion this weekend!!!!

It's hard to believe that it's been 20 years since high school....wow!

Well, when we graduated we decided to skip the 5 year and do a 10 year reunion. I was not able to make it to that reunion (living in Texas at the time) and turnout was low. For the 20 year it looks like about 80 classmates plus spouses are coming!!!! WOW!

I've been on the reunion committee and have loved being part of the committee. With that said, I've worked my butt off and did alot of things to help prepare. I scanned in all class pics from the yearbook of our classmates, created name tags with the pics, scanned all pics for the videos and memory boards, created the memory boards (because I'm the scrapper!), and a handful of other things....whew...it's been a long road but the time has come to CELEBRATE!

The events kick off friday afternoon with a tour of the high school (it's gone through major remodels in the past 20 years including relocation of the football field!). Then we head over to the Elk's Lodge for a welcome social for a few hours. Afterwards we're attending the homecoming football game where they will announce our class - woohooo!!!! Saturday there is a golf tournament or hanging out with classmates. Saturday night is a get together at the convention center for the big night! Then Sunday there's a brunch. It's going to be alot of fun and I'm excited, anxious, and a little scared. Oh yeah, they signed me up to do some presentations too! Not usually my thing, but I can do this!!!! I've been doing alot of speaking at my crops so this is just the same (okay, that's what I'm telling myself!!!).

Will have pics to post afterwards!!!!! Oh yeah, John will be wearing a TIE!!! Last time that happened.....10 years ago at a formal office party. I even had to bring the new tie to work to have a co-worker tie it :-) Yep, that's my guy......casual!

User Response - Laugh for the day

I was off work Friday and we had some system issues at work so my Team Lead sent out an email to the users (which is something I typically do). Now mind you her name is Christie (spelled differently than mine).

This is what Candy (the user from Orlando) said to Christie (thinking it was me).

Excuse me but are congratulations in order? I noticed the name change. From my jaded perspective, whether you got married or divorced, you get the same congratulations!! For the first, it is because you are a positive person who still believes in true love and for the latter because you had the good sense to run like a "scalded dog" when you realized you were married to a complete idiot!!

I cracked up laughing hysterically at her response! I HAD to respond to her......ha ha ha ha. This gives me the giggles everytime I read it!!!!!

Presidential Elections - Who are you voting for?

Take this online survey. Without knowing who said it - you will see who you agree with more.

When you take out all the fluff - it is interesting to see where you fall! Maybe this should be our ballot at the election in November!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, this is awesome! It confirmed who I will be voting for and who I’ve always wanted to vote for.

What color are you quiz

You are "Blue"!

You seek purpose in life. You crave intimacy with people of like mind, although it takes a while for you to let them in. You strive to do the right thing, even if it means hurting yourself a bit. Don't take life too seriously, you might enjoy stepping out of the box once in while.

Cards for Soldiers

I spent more time counting and sorting greeting cards that have been donated for the soldiers. So far I'm up to 2682 and still have a few more boxes yet to open. WOOHOO!!! The goal was 1,000 and wow - - we blew that away!!!! Our next goal is 5,000 and we're over halfway there. We can do this!!!! Keep working on those cards - any occasion, any holiday, anything! Whatever strikes you when you sit down to make a card :-)

If you have some cards sitting around from a card swap, I'll take those too! I even had someone donate card fronts and I adhered them to card stock. What a great way to use those beautiful cards by giving them to the soldiers for them to send messages home. Those cards are going to be treasured for years!!! I know because I still have letters from my dad when he was deployed 30 years ago and they are so much fun to read. I also have cards from my husband when he was deployed recently and they are just as precious.

Ladies - we can do this!!!

5,000 cards by December 31st!!!!
